Bovone Diamond Tools, flat glass processing diamond and polishing tools

March 19th, 2011

The company from Ovada (Genoa) was created 6 years ago by Bovone group, the wolrd leader for glass straight-line bevelling machines. Bovone diamond tools (BDT) manufacture a large diamond tools range for all the glass processing machines of the market and for the main machines producers ( Lattuada, Schiatti, Bavelloni, Intermac, Denver, Bottero, Bimatech, Vitrododi, Besana, Delta…):

The company proposes:

-Diamond metal bond and resin bond wheels for flat glass processing

-Polishing wheels flat glass processing

-Felts wheels flat glass processing

-Cerium oxide flat glass processing

-Diamond drills flat glass processing

Belfort Glass

March 18th, 2011

Belfort glass has started in 1971 producing pomps for mono or bi-components for double glazing processing.

In 1979 the company entered on the diamond tools market producing diamond and resin wheels for straight-line edging and bevelling machines.

Due to a strong agreement with Bovone ( the company is actually managed by Mauro Bovone) Belfort glass supplying all the wheels for this very important machines producer the company was growing fastly.

In 2005 Bovone cut the agreement with Belfort Glass, starting to produce wheels with its own branche, Bovone Diamond tools and caused some difficulties to Belfort Glass which lost an important share of its turnover and the more imortant part of its international sale network.

Belfort Glass products range

-Diamond, resin, polishing wheels and felts

-Coolant, cerium oxide. Thiokol, Silicon and butyl extruders

-All material for insulating glass production

-Ancillary machines for insulating glass

RBM, polishing wheels for glass processing

March 16th, 2011

The R.B.M. Italian company  (Reynaud Baldichieri Mole) ITALIA started in 1963. In the beginning Romano Reynaud worked in a glazing factory and during his week end was designing, producing and testing polishing wheels for flat glass processing

Early sixties R.B.M. began to supply the first straight-line edging machines manufacturers such as ADA and COVESA. These machines sold all over the world allow RBM to start to create its international sales network.

The first polishing wheels to be designed and proposed to the flat glass market  are 9R and 10S, that are always a big part of the wheels sold by RBM. The 10S bond is very interesting because ut accept a large pressure range for polishing.

In the beginning of the eighties, the inquiry for polishing quality and bright polishing from flat glass market gave to RBM the opportunity to design Cerium wheels or “white wheels with the very famous reference X081.

At this period started also the collaboration with the futurmarket leader for straignt-line edging machine, Bavelloni

Early in the nineties, R.B.M start to manufacture “stone wheels” for the arris processing.

Wheels for Bavelloni machines, edging, bevelling, CNC……

February 16th, 2011

Following the permanent reorganization in Bavelloni group, and the closing for some branches or distributing shops, some customers with Bavelloni machines have more and more difficulties to be delivered with such diamond and polishing wheels.

A team, from the Bavelloni stone producing plant has left the Glaston group and is working to design wheels for Bavelloni machines with similar technical caracteristics.

Some wheels are already available for PR/88, CR1111 and Gemy machines range.

If you could be interested to be in contact with this team and to recieve offers, please contact Comascotec on info@comascotec.co.

Bovone enters on stone processing market tools

December 4th, 2010

The Bovone’s branche BDT (Bovone diamond tools) has entered some weeks ago on stone processing market tools.

BDT has been created some years ago by the glass bevelling machine market leader to manufacture diamond wheels for glass market, cutting this way the long collaboration with Belfort Glass.

BDT has recently engaged Cosimo Gabriele, who has managed for more than 20 years with huge results the tools activity in Bavelloni group.

Bovone has introduced for the stone market a comprehensive tools range for CNC machines for marbre, granite and artificial stones.

Some news from the market

Glass polishing wheels, novelties for next Glasstec Dusseldorf 2010 : Artifex

July 26th, 2010

Glass polishing : Artifex

To polish flat glass you need to put a pressure on the glass with the wheel( mechanical, pneumatic..) sur le verre. If this pressure is too important or if the cooling is not efficient  ( temperature…) a good polishing is not possible. So it is very interesting to work with wheels accepting low pressure.

The German manufacturer Artifex, with more than 80 experience years in glass polishing introduce a new range of wheels ( réf : AO-BJ) working under low pressure.

Diamond grit size

February 23rd, 2010

Depending the kind of job your diamond wheel has to carry out you need to carefully choose the diamond grit size ( the dimensions of the diamond beads).

The more you have to remove from you glass or stone piece the more important must be the diamond grit size. But if you need to use a coarse grit size it means that after working the material surface will be with a lot of lines and chips.

An other solution can be to use a smaller diamond grit size and to remove less material It eans that you have to work twice with teh same wheel to reach teh total removal required.

Anyway to be properly polished the material surface must be without any chips. So after your coarse diamond grit size you have to use other diamond wheels with smaller diamond grit size to reach a surface able to be polished.

Please find here-by the grit size comparison table
